  • Yes. All corrugated packaging is FSC-certified, made from at least 30% recycled material, and curbside recyclable.

  • Many mattresses use fiberglass inside the cover as a low-cost fire barrier. If that cover is ever removed or damaged, fiberglass particles can escape and contaminate your home, which is difficult and expensive to clean up. Vibe products never use fiberglass, in any layer. We still meet the same fire-safety testing standards required, we just use safer materials to get there.

  • Yes. Every foam used in Vibe products is CertiPUR-US and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. That means an independent lab has tested the foam for harmful chemicals, emissions, and performance.

  • A mild, temporary odor is normal with any new foam product as it fully expands and airs out, usually fading within 24-72 hours.

  • Each of the following states have a recycling fee depending the product purchased on a per unit basis. For all states please visit byebyemattress.com for more info.

    California

On January 1, 2025, CalRecycle approved a $16 recycling fee per mattress unit, collected at the point of sale. This fee funds the collection, transportation, and processing of discarded mattresses in California through the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC). Starting April 1, 2026, this fee will increase from $16 to $18 per unit. The fee is visible on your order and is required by state law — it is not a charge set by Vibe.

    Connecticut

Connecticut’s mattress recycling law requires mattress producers to establish and join a nonprofit organization charged with creating a mattress stewardship (recycling) program to manage unwanted mattresses and box springs in the state (CGS § 22a-905 et seq.). The mattress industry created the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC) to fulfill this requirement. The state neither administers the program, nor collects its fees. MRC branded the program as “Bye Bye Mattress.” As required by law, a fee is charged at the point of sale, which the retailer transmits to MRC. The fee is currently set at $16 per unit (mattress or box spring) and pays for such things as collecting, transporting, and processing discarded mattresses; audits; public education materials; and maintaining a financial reserve. Although MRC is principally responsible for the program, the state’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is, however, tasked with enforcing the law’s requirements.

    Rhode Island

In July 2013, Rhode Island enacted General Law 23-90, which requires mattress manufacturers to create a statewide recycling program for discarded mattresses. The program began May 1, 2016, and is funded through a $22.50 visible recycling fee collected at retail from customers on each mattress and foundation sold in the state. These fees fund the collection and recycling of mattresses and foundations used and discarded in Rhode Island.

    Colorado

Effective July 1, 2022, in an effort to address sustainability of the transportation system in the state, Colorado imposes a $0.29 retail delivery fee on all deliveries by motor vehicle to a location in Colorado with at least one item of tangible personal property subject to state sales tax. This retail delivery fee is included when any Lucid product is mailed, shipped, or otherwise delivered by motor vehicle to a purchaser in Colorado. As a fee collected and remitted to the Colorado Department of Revenue, this fee is not refundable on product returns.

    Oregon

In January 2025, Oregon's Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) authorized the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC) to create a statewide mattress recycling program. The program is funded by a $22.50 per unit DEQ-approved stewardship assessment collected on the sale of each mattress and foundation sold for use in Oregon. mattresses

  • It depends mostly on how you sleep. Side sleepers usually do best with a softer to medium feel, for pressure relief at the shoulders and hips. Back and stomach sleepers typically prefer medium-firm to firm, for more even support. If you're not sure, our quiz can match you to the right feel in about two minutes.

  • Neither is "better," it depends on what you're looking for:

    • Choose all-foam if you want a contouring, sink-in feel, better motion isolation, and a lower price point.
    • Choose a hybrid if you want more responsiveness, stronger edge support, and better airflow, or if you're using an adjustable base and prefer coil-level flex.
  • See the "Mattress or Topper" guide here for a full breakdown, but as a quick rule: if your mattress is old, sagging, or you're waking up with new aches, look at mattresses. If the support still feels fine and you just want a comfort refresh, a topper is the faster, lower-cost fix.

  • Yes, though most sleepers don't need both at once. A topper is generally meant to extend the life or adjust the feel of a mattress you already own, not to be paired with a brand-new one unless you're looking for a specific softer feel on top of a firmer base.

  • Vibe mattresses are designed to work on a solid or slatted foundation, platform bed, or adjustable base, no box spring required.

  • Mattresses typically last between 7-10 years, however there are many variables that influence the longevity of your mattress. We recommend using a mattress protector to help extend the life of your mattress.

  • Please allow 24-72 hours for your mattress to regain its full shape. Most of the expansion happens within the first few hours of unboxing, though it will continue to settle over the following days. Expansion time also depends on room temperature: memory foam expands faster in a warmer room, and may take a bit longer to reach full size if it's delivered in a colder environment.

  • Most sleepers need anywhere from a few nights to a couple of weeks to fully adjust, especially if the new feel or firmness is different from what you're used to. Your body is getting used to new pressure points and support, and small things like initial stiffness typically ease up as you settle in.

    toppers

  • A topper adds a new comfort layer on top of your mattress, but it won't fix a mattress that's structurally sagging or broken down underneath. If your mattress feels worn on the surface but still supportive underneath, a topper is a great fix. If you feel coils, a valley in the middle, or ongoing new aches, it's likely time for a new mattress instead.

  • Yes, though most sleepers don't need both at once. A topper is generally meant to extend the life or adjust the feel of a mattress you already own, not to be paired with a brand-new one unless you're looking for a specific softer feel on top of a firmer base.

  • Yes, but it typically expands faster than a mattress. Give it a few hours to fully expand after unboxing, and expect it to fully settle within 24-48 hours.

  • Yes, and this is completely normal. Memory foam naturally oxidizes and may yellow slightly with age and light exposure. This does not affect comfort, support, or performance.

  • We recommend putting your mattress protector on top of your mattress topper to keep it clean and fresh.

  • Not usually, though deep-pocket fitted sheets typically fit more securely over a mattress-plus-topper combination.
